A sixteen-foot by sixty-foot courtyard was transformed from an unusable outdoor space to a true outdoor room. Two large trees were preserved while the entire drainage, irrigation and lighting systems were replaced and updated. A series of terraces and stairs lead to the main entertainment space which is surrounded by seasonally and texturally interesting plantings. The views within were enhanced as well as the views into the garden from above. The presence and feelings of being inside extends outside easily and comfortably.
